Backlit Spray

Backlit Spray

Making a dull, rainy day at most race circuits look interesting is an exercise in futility. Huge, ugly catch fencing stops amateur photographers from getting any unrestricted angles close to the track, and the weather removes any decent colour. Brands Hatch is one exception - there are a few spots where you can get really close to the action (with the aid of a 70-200mm lens!) and just occasionally, the weather can help you out. Five minutes of late-afternoon sunshine after a thoroughly soggy afternoon gave me the opportunity to catch some gorgeous backlit spray during an Elise Trophy race.
